Redispatch measures are a key instrument for ensuring system security and grid stability in Europe. With the continued expansion of renewable energies and the increasing complexity of power grids, these measures are becoming even more important. This training covers the basic concepts of redispatch in Central Europe, with a particular focus on cost-based and market-based approaches. Participants receive a comprehensive overview of how the different redispatch models used in Europe work, how they differ, and what challenges they present.

Target groups:

Employees of transmission system operators: Professionals from the areas of grid operations, operational planning, IT, and management.

Energy suppliers and market participants: People who work with redispatch processes or their impact on the electricity market.

Regulatory authorities and institutions: Professionals who support the implementation and monitoring of redispatch measures.

Career starters and trainees: New employees in the energy industry who wish to develop a basic understanding of redispatch measures.

Engineers and technicians: professionals preparing for roles in the energy supply sector.

Consultants and project managers: People who manage projects in the field of redispatch.

Content:

Introduction to redispatch:

  • Brief introduction to congestion management.
  • Importance and objectives of redispatch measures.

Cost-based redispatch:

  • Functionality and application.
  • Benefits and challenges.

Market-based redispatch:

  • Functionality and application.
  • Benefits and challenges.

Comparison of approaches:

  • Differences between cost-based and market-based models.
  • Assessment of efficiency and practicality.

The aim of the training is to provide participants with a solid understanding of redispatch concepts in Central Europe. They learn the fundamentals of cost-based and market-based approaches and understand their differences as well as their respective advantages and disadvantages.

Katalin Di Martino

With more than seven years of experience in operational planning at Amprion, Katalin Di Martino is a recognized expert in the fields of capacity calculation, congestion management, and redispatch. Through her close collaboration with grid operations, she has gained extensive knowledge of the control and stabilization of power grids, as well as the coördination of measures to ensure grid stability. In addition, she was involved for more than two years at TenneT in the development of the cost sharing process in the CORE capacity calculation region and has acquired in-depth knowledge of the development and implementation of European processes. She is currently working as a consultant at X‑impuls AG and, thanks to her expertise, plays a key role in the implementation of the CorNet platform as part of the CorNet program. With her experience in project management, as a product owner, and her extensive knowledge of the relevant data structures, she combines technical expertise with strategic implementation skills. Katalin Di Martino conveys the complex requirements of modern processes in a practical and easy-to-understand way.
